Why We Love Our Caraway Cookware & Bakeware Set

This review was written as part of a gifted partnership with Caraway Cookware. All views, ideas, and opinions are my own.

I’ve been a big fan of Caraway cookware since the moment I came across their products on Instagram a few years ago. I saw them on another influencer’s Instagram story and was immediately drawn to the soft, muted colors, sleek design, and promises of true non-stick cooking.

At the time, our kitchen items were a random mis-matched collection of things that I either bought for cheaaap cheap in college, borrowed (read: stole) from my mom’s kitchen at one point or another, or they came from Ira’s previous apartments…and of course he didn’t care about having stuff that matched. I can’t even tell you how many pots & pans we’ve tossed over the years due to the non-stick coating wearing off after just a few uses, missing lids, or if I’m being honest, I just hated the look of them (aesthetics matter, okay?) Even worse than the ones we tossed though, are the ones we should have tossed years ago. Like our burnt, rusted, warped baking pans that look like they’ve been through hell and back, despite the fact that don’t even really cook that often. I’ll spare you the pictures, but just know, they’re terrible.

Regardless of how often we cook though, when we built our home back in 2020, I knew wanted cookware that looked good and would function even better in our new kitchen. Enter…

Caraway Home

The year we moved into our home, my mom bought us the Caraway Pot and Pan Set as a Christmas gift. Ira and I were both immediately impressed by the look and feel of them after unboxing, and now 3 years later, we’re still just as impressed with how well they’ve held up! So much so, that when Caraway reached out to me to write a review of their products in exchange for the matching 11-Pc Bakeware Set, I jumped at the opportunity! A full set of cookware and bakeware? That all matches? AND actually stands the test of time??? Sis, say less. You already know I’m game!

Pros:

Sleek and stylish, yet simple design in a variety of colors.

I’m a neutral girlie through and through, so of course both of our sets are cream. The sets are also available in 8 other colors (including a black & gold combination that I can’t stop drooling over).) Caraway also releases limited edition colorways every now & then, so keep an eye out on their website if there’s a color you’re hoping to see! I’m typically a “clean counters, always” type of person, but I could definitely see myself leaving these out on display in a smaller kitchen where storage is limited. The fun colors and cute design of the cookware make them very easy on the eyes, certainly not pieces that you feel inclined to hide away when not in use.

When Caraway says non-stick, they mean it!

The first meal I cooked in our Caraway Pan was one of my favorites, Bertoli Chicken Farfalle! It’s a weekly meal in this house. (Find it in the freezer aisle of your grocery store.) That dish was notorious for sticking to any pan I made it in, even after pouring a generous amount of olive oil in the pan first. However, this was (and still is!) far from the case from our Caraway set. When it was time for plating, the food slid out of the pan soooo smooth and slick and I didn’t even have to use any oil. I was SHOOK.

Comes with its own organizers,

For storing the pieces inside a cabinet, or displaying them on your counter. The cookware set comes with grey, plastic dividers (one for each piece of the set) that grip to each other magnetically to keep them from sliding around when you go to remove or return a pot/pan. They bakeware set comes with it’s own set of 2 soft, but structured organizers for storing not only each piece of your Caraway set, but there’s a little extra room to fit bakeware you already own too! Unfortunately we don’t have enough cabinet space to store both bakeware organizers in the same cabinet, but luckily the two aren’t connected so you get more flexibility in how you use them.

The interchangeable lids in the cookware set save so much space in our kitchen!

Although the cookware set comes with four pots & pans, two of them are the same size, meaning you only need three lids. Even better, the lids come with their own soft, cloth pocket organizer that you can hang on the wall for easy, out-of the-way storage.

Made with non-toxic materials,

So you don’t have to worry about any chemicals or toxins seeping into your food as you cook. All of Caraways cookware and bakeware are free from “potentially toxic materials like PFOA, PTFE, other PFAs, lead, cadmium, or toxic metals. We also refrain from using any form of hard anodization” (taken directly from Caraway’s website because I was sure I’d mess up one of those acronyms.)

Cons:

The pots are Somewhat heavy to hold and maneuver,

Especially when they’re filled with food/water. This ain’t no one handed operation. That aluminum-core inside the cookware makes for a strong, sturdy dish, but also a serious wrist workout after a while. I’ll take the heaviness over something flimsy and unreliable any day though. (The bakeware set, on the other hand, feels perfect!

You cannot—and I seriously can’t stress this enough—CANNOT use high heat.

Ask me how I know… I was aware of this minor caveat going in, yet still decided to push my limits and ultimately ended up forgetting about it altogether until I noticed our cream pots turning brown/black on the bottom. This is due to too much exposure to high heat and transfer of burnt food from the stove. I was able to get majority of the residue and discoloration off though by using Bark Keeper’s Friend mixed with baking soda on a scrubbing sponge. Luckily we have a glass top stove, as I assume actual flames and the rough texture of the metal grates on a gas stove probably would’ve done a lot more damage. Now, whenever I need to use high heat, I just reach for my non-Caraway cookware instead.

Caraway Cookware & Bakeware Best Practices

Here are a few tips to keep your Caraway sets looking clean & pristine for as long as possible!

  • Hand wash your Caraway after use.

  • Only use silicone or wooden utensils with your Caraway. Never use metal, as it will scratch the non-stick coating off of the interior surface.

  • Do not cook on high heat (stovetop) or place the bakeware in the oven on the broil setting. Cook on low to medium on the stove, and bake at up to 500 degrees in the oven.

We seriously can’t get enough of our Caraway Home cookware and bakeware sets! They make the perfect gift (tell ya mans, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner) or addition your wedding registry! If we didn’t already own both sets, this would have been the first thing on my registry!
