We Installed Bar Sinks In Our Bathroom...

This blog post is sponsored by Elkay, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

We’re about midway through our primary bathroom remodel and finally getting to the fun part—installing all the new stuff! First up, are the vanity countertop, sinks, and faucets. When we built the house, we purposefully did not upgrade the bathroom countertops because I knew I would be giving this room a makeover eventually. Instead, we opted to go with the standard, cultured marble countertop with integrated sinks…BLEH. Let me tell ya, I could not wait to get that thing outta there! Functionally, it was fine. Aesthetically, issa no for me, dawg.

After going back and forth on the color a bit (okay, a lot) I finally decided on quartz countertops. Luckily, I was able to find a countertop remnant in my area for a fraction of what it would’ve cost me to get an entire slab fabricated so we could afford to get 3cm thickness this time around. It’s also very similar to our kitchen countertop in color and style, which I always feel like makes the house more cohesive.

Once the countertop was installed, it was time for the moment I had been (not so) patiently waiting for months…installing our new black BAR sinks!

Yup. That’s right! We installed bar sinks in our bathroom instead of regular sinks and it turned out even better than I could’ve imagined! For 3 months, I had this nagging thought in the back of my mind— ”what if they look weird?”, “what if they’re too deep?”, “will the future buyer of this house think I’m crazy?…will my followers?!” Now I can confidently say that the answer to the first 2 questions is a resounding NO. They’re amazing! (Only time will tell for the other 2 questions haha!)

Now on to the next question I’m sure you have—”but, why?”

I decided to go with bar sinks instead of standard bathroom sinks for a few reasons:

  • I wanted to maximize counter space, especially since we’ll be installing a vanity tower/cabinet between the sinks

  • I had to have black. HAD to.

  • I wanted the sinks to make a statement!

I needed a deeper basin sink for handwashing clothes and washing my wigs (iykyk) since we don’t have a sink in our laundry room and the one in the kitchen is usually full…oops.

The Elkay Quartz Luxe Sinks fit the bill perfectly! They’re a few inches more narrow than standard bathroom sinks and have the deeper basin shape I was looking for. They come in multiple colors, but I chose the Caviar color. It’s a polished, black finish that sparkles when the light hits it and I’m OBSESSED! The Quartz Luxe sinks are molded with a fiberglass mat on the underside of the sink which gives it extra impact resistance. The sink is non-porous and has a super smooth surface, so it will automatically repel stains and smudges, plus stand up to everyday wear and tear.

We paired the sinks with the matching Polymer Drain and the Avado Single Hole Bar Faucet. The drain is corrosion resistant and is made with the color infused into the polymer so it won’t scratch or chip off. The sleek, single-hole faucets that we used bring in a little more of the black and you know I’m allllll for that!. I love how substantial they look compared to a regular bathroom faucet due to their extra tall neck. That extra height helps make the whole area more of statement piece and really draws you in.

We still have a lot to do in this room but it feels SO good to have this little area checked off of the task list! So what do you think?! Would you ever install bar sinks in your bathroom? Let me know in the comments & be sure to follow along with my progress on Instagram!
