November Mood Board - Crushin' & Blushin'

It’s the most polarizing time of the yeaaar.

If you’re like me, you started decorating your home for fall on September 1st…and refused to wait a single day longer! But now that Halloween has passed and the weeks until Thanksgiving are dragging on, I’m starting to get that itch to switch things up. Yeah, the winter holidays are right around the corner, but fall isn’t quite over yet. It’s not that I want to skip over Thanksgiving, but all of the stores have already turned on their holiday playlists. So what’s a girl to do when it’s too cold for pumpkins and too early for garland? Or when your Instagram feed is full of ‘first snow of the season’ posts, but you’re not quite ready to dig your Christmas tree out of storage?

If I were to let Ira decide, he’d say to leave everything as is until the official start of Christmastime: Black Friday. Then again, if I let him decide everything, there would be no fall decorations up in the first place. So I say, find the middle ground and go for it! Right now, I’m seriously loving deep reds, moody mauves, and blush tones to bridge the gap between fall and winter. When done right, those colors can make your room look sophisticated and chic, and won’t lean too far to either side of the Great Seasonal Debate. Don’t forget to add in some crushed velvet, warm metals, and faux fur to give the room texture and dimension and you’re good to go! So whether you’re Team Forever Fall or Team Deck The Halls—’tis the season for crushin’ and blushin’!

I’m not at all ashamed to admit, I’m 100x Team Deck The Halls. S for the next few weeks I’ll be swapping out my tiny pumpkins for holly and candy canes while blasting my holiday favorite—Boys II Men’s ‘Let It Snow’. This song immediately puts me in a Christmas mood. And it’s seriously so much better than Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You. That is a hill I’m willing to die on.
