Mood Board Of The Month — July

It’s July! Which means everyday here in Austin feels like the sun is just a couple miles closer to us than the day before (#thxglobalwarming). Every time I leave my house these days, all I can think about is how nice it would be to be listening to the waves, drink in hand, and a slight breeze on my skin. Or, forget the skip the actual beach— just give me a house a pool and I’ll be set! Unfortunately, I don’t have any vacations planned anytime soon, so until then I’ll just keep dreaming.

My first Mood Board of The Month post is inspired by my growing need for sand & sea, so it’s all about cool, calm, & coastal vibes! This muted, modern coastal look can be incorporated into any home, not just houses at the beach! Gone are the days of over-the-top nautical decor and striped everything. The items in this mood board work together to create a beachy feel, but can be used in other styles as well.

Here are some of the items I can’t stop thinking about as I decorate my future beach house in my head. Links to each item are listed at the end of the post, plus a breakdown of a few of my favorites!

(1) Hanging Rattan Chair (2) Wood Canopy Bed (3) Blake Raffia 3-Drawer Nightstand (4) Rocky Coast Art (5) Headlands Round Pendant (6) Betania Hourglass Side Table (7) Neva Sofa in Almond (8) Ryder Denim Rug (9) Malena Upholstered Dining Chair Set (10) Venice Dining Table in Shutter Grey (11) Linnet Rattan Barstool

If you follow me on Instagram you know I’ve been obsessed with canopy beds lately, so I couldn’t not put one in this mood board. The natural wood just goes perfectly with any coastal room.

I’ve had my eye on this chair for a while now and I keep getting drawn back to it. I love both the natural and the white color options, especially with a couple throw pillows. I feel like hanging chairs are popping up in homes everywhere and it’s definitely something I want to add to my own home. Now if I could find a way to hang it in my apartment…

Tell me this doesn’t look like the coziest sofa everrr. I love that the slipcovers give it that laid back, relaxed look that you always see in beach houses, without being scratchy. All of their fabrics are super durable and washable. Plus, if you get tired of furniture easily like me, you can order a new slipcover for less than what it would cost to get a whole new sofa. I’m. In. Love.
