August Mood Board — Never Ending Summer

I can’t believe it’s already August! How is it already August?!

It seems like the older I get, the faster the months go by. I can remember being in elementary school and feeling like it took forever to get to August. I was so ready for summer to be over so I could start school again.

The start of August still puts me back in that same mindset of the end of summer and the start of another academic year. I guess the only thing that’s really changed is that now I’ve left behind my excitement for school supply shopping and replaced it with a countdown until football season!

So in honor of never ending summers, back-to-school season, and my two favorite football teams (LSU & UMich), this month’s mood board is yellow! Yellow is so bright and fun and it’s perfect for adding a pop of color to your home. Sunny hues can help brighten any space year round, while the darker yellow tones make a great transition from summer to fall. Here are some yellow decor items I’m loving this month.

(1) Mindfulness Journal (2) Yellow Braided Pouf (3) Bloom Wall Tapestry (4) Dotted Duvet Set (5) Line Art Drawings (6) Uh Huh Honey Pillow (7) Pulver Pillow Cover (8) Squeeze The Day Bathmat (9) Matte Yellow Dinnerware (10) Yellow Stripe Towels

Honestly, I’m terrible at journaling, but I’m totally eyeing that Mindfulness Journal (#1). I’d probably never even write in it, but it would just look so cute on the coffee table.

The Bloom Tapestry (#3) is giving me major Black Girls Rock meets Bohemian vibes and I am here. for. it. I could definitely see the tapestry working in a small apartment/dorm to add color to a space where painting isn’t really an option.

Line drawings are really popular right now and I love this set I found on Etsy (#5). They’re available for instant download, so you can get them printed and frame them yourself for waaay less than what most art pieces cost.

The Squeeze The Day Bathmat (#8) was actually the first thing I found for the mood board and I wish I had somewhere to use it! I’m picturing a small kids’ bathroom with white tile, a patterned shower curtain, and pops of yellow throughout. Age appropriate and cute, but still meshes with the stylish look of the rest of the house.

Now are y’all as inspired as I am to add yellow accents to your home? Great! Now go take these awesome lemons I just gave you and make lemonade!
