September Mood Board — Modern Autumn

Fall is here! And by ‘here’, I mean everywhere except the southern half of the country. We’re still dying in the sweltering heat as we unload boxes of fall decor from our cars after yet another trip to Target (or is that just me?). Either way, now that Labor Day has passed I can officially start putting out my pumpkins, with only the occasional side eye from my neighbors, so that’s good enough for me!

Fall is absolutely my favorite time of year. The weather, the leaves changing, cozy clothes, pumpkin flavored everything—my list of reasons why Fall is the superior season goes on and on. Unfortunately, living in Texas means it won’t actually start to feel like Fall outside for at least another month so. This means I’ll just have to recreate those fall vibes indoors and, fortunately, I love any excuse to redecorate so bring on the faux pumpkins and autumn scented candles!

I’m loving the neutral trend, especially as it carries through to seasonal decor as well. This year I definitely plan to stick to my home’s color scheme (gray, black, white, & tan) when decorating for the seasons, and just add small pops of the bright reds and oranges here and there to really make them stand out. Sp to get a head start, I put together September’s mood board to be all about keeping that modern look throughout seasonal decorating. Checkout these neutral, affordable finds that will look great in any space, without making your home look like a farmhouse on a pumpkin patch.
